CitySoft announces the launch of Version 5.0 of our low cost and high quality Community Enterprise (CE) software. CE 5.0 is a major release that encompasses functionality, portability, security, and stability enhancements. More than ever, Community Enterprise provides social sector organizations with the most extensive technology for the lowest price.
Version 5.0 introduces major functionality enhancements and improvements that will provide great benefit to CE users and clients, particularly to membership organizations. These enhancements include:
Committees Module A new module - the Committees module - has been introduced into CE in release 5.0. The Committees module enables clients to create Committees (or other groups) and associate contacts (or members) with these committees.
The Committees module includes CE’s User Defined Fields (also known as Custom Fields) functionality. This allows non-technical users to create completely user defined forms related to Committee records. This allows separate data capture and tracking forms for different kinds of committees such as Membership Committees, Staff Committees, and Volunteer Committees.
Activities Module CE 5.0 includes a complete re-write of the Activities module to make it more functional and easier to use. Automatic activities are logged in CE for more than a dozen transactions in the system and manual transactions are easier to create that in previous versions. As a result, it is easier to keep a full accounting of relationships, interactions, and other activities in CE. In addition, version 5.0 include an enhanced To Do list which allows a user to track their tasks within CE. A new dashboard display also allows these tasks to be viewed on the administrative home page during log in.
Events Module CE 5.0 includes several new events related features that provide clients with many more options in managing events. A Sponsor Management module enables administrators to define sponsorship levels for events and assign sponsors to the events. An enhancement in the pricing component for events makes it much easier to manage member vs. non-member pricing and solves the problem that many event managers face of event registrants choosing the wrong pricing option. With CE 5.0, administrators can also set publish and expiration dates for specific pricing options. These and other event related enhancements make the event module more effective and powerful for CE clients and users.
Membership Module CE 5.0 includes a re-write of membership functionality that includes setting and managing membership dues in variety of ways including by set calendar dates and rolling membership dates.
Version 5.0 codifies recent improvements in code management in CE that make the whole system more portable and easy to manage. CE is among the only comparable software products available that can be licensed either as a subscription ASP or as a stand-alone, portable system. In the current release, the process to both deploy and upgrade the CE software is improved and simplified.
Version 5.0 includes an upgrade to the latest ColdFusion platform (MX7) as well as optimizations that take advantage of many new options in MX7. The upgrade and enhancements translate into increased application and server stability for CE users and clients.
Version 5.0 includes a number of pro-active security measures that increase protection against SQL injection and cross scripting hacks.
