The Society for Professional Practice brings together practitioners, researchers, educators and students who share a commitment to high standards and lifelong learning.

Who we are

Founded in 1987, the Society has grown into a network of more than 4,000 members in 12 regional chapters. We set practice standards, support research and speak for the profession on the issues that affect it.

What we do

  • Publish practice guidelines and a code of ethics
  • Offer continuing education and an annual conference
  • Fund early-career research through grants and awards
  • Advocate for the profession with policymakers and the public

Joining the Society gave me a network I still rely on every week.
